If someone told me a year ago that I would be running a blog, I would have said HELL NO! But hear I am, and I love it! If you’re an Etsy business owner looking for a way to skyrocket your sales then I definitely recommend that you start a blog too.
Since starting my blog in October, I’ve made over 500 sales in just 6 months and earned just under half of my entire earnings that I’ve made since opening my shop in 2016. Yup! And I give full credit to my blog.

You see, your blog is a target audience trap. A place where your buyers can learn more about you and your brand. Where they can get product updates straight to their inbox! AMAZING!
I realized that people were more likely to buy from me if they came to my shop via my blog. That’s because my blog is an opportunity for my lovely readers to know that they can trust me and see how passionate I am about what I do! That’s something that Etsy doesn’t allow you to do!
Running a blog allows your readers to:
- TRUST you.
- Learn from you.
- Tell their friends about you.
- Buy from someone that they feel that they know.
All of this in ONE place. Sound too good to be true!
LEARN HOW TO CATAPULT YOUR SALES!
Setting up a website is super easy and surprisingly cheap! Any money you do spend on launching a blog, I can GUARANTEE you will make back in sales! Here are the programs you’ll need to get to help get your blog started today!
I use Siteground and would HIGHLY recommend it to everyone. Their customer service is spot on. If you’re a complete newbie to websites like I was then this is the hosting you need. I’ve managed to break my website several times and the customer support team were super quick to fix it for me before I had a breakdown from the thought of losing everything. Their plans start from as little as £2.75 per month too. Bargain!
You know what the majority of new bloggers regret? Not starting a mail list from day one. Seriously. A mail list consists of a group of kickass people who are genuinely interested in YOU. I currently have just under 4000 subscribers. If I tell my mailing list about a new product or a sale then that is potentially 4000 sales!!
I’ve recently moved to Convertkit and I love it. You can create customizable forms that match your brand so that your readers will immediately recognize your emails. Prices start from $29 a month and worth every penny.
You can use a free theme from WordPress but if you want your blog to look professional and match your brand then I definitely recommend that you purchase a premium theme.
I purchased mine from GetPolishedCreative and was gutted when I found out that she had closed for good. However there a lots of shops on Etsy that sell gorgeous, professional blog themes. SheShoppesCo is a top-selling Etsy seller whose themes are feminine and minimalist. Perfect for my brand.
Pinterest is my #1 source of traffic to my website, and to my Etsy shop in fact! I pin at least 50/60 times a day to get as much exposure as possible.
There is not a chance that I would be able to pin that often without the help of Tailwind. If you’ve not heard of it already, it’s a toolkit that allows you to schedule your pins in advance. For UK bloggers like me, it’s super helpful as the highest engagement time is around 1am-4am. You will NOT catch me up pinning at that time. This girl needs sleep.
Thanks to using Tailwind I’m currently getting half a million monthly views to my Pinterest profile. That’s 500,000 potential readers and yup you got it. 500,000 potential customers.
Tailwind is $15 a month and allows you to schedule 400 pins a month. Use this link to get your first month absolutely FREE!
Good luck with growing your new blog! I’d LOVE to find out what results you get from it! Share your results in the comments!
